Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Boxes
When a visitor enters a name or location in a search tool, the query is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Josephine County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy applies to its receipt and use of the query.
Emails and Other Messages
If a reader sends an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share the message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary web systems can record technical and usage details when a page loads. Those records may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit.
- The browser name and version.
- The device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure site use and support normal features. A browser can reject or remove them through its settings. Blocking cookies may change how certain tools, preferences, or page elements behave.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information is used only for operating, understanding, and supporting the service. Common uses are:
- Keeping pages available and responsive.
- Sending a search request to the selected partner service.
- Learning which Josephine County resource pages readers use.
- Finding errors, abuse, and technical faults.
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.
Government and Outside Links
Josephine County Released Inmates links to Sheriff and corrections pages, release-record sources, Oregon court and agency portals, and independent search tools. Oregon government record access may be governed by the Oregon Public Records Law, including ORS 192.314 and related exemptions. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy and terms control its data collection.
Some advertising partners can use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and choose interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the partner’s technology, not a Josephine County government system and not records held by this site.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be handled by the following parties when needed for the stated service:
- Search partners that process a query submitted to their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Security Has Practical Limits
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information under our control. No website, network, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed free from every intrusion or loss. We therefore cannot promise that information will always remain secure or that a breach is impossible.
Service Is for Adults
This site is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, a deletion request may be sent through the Contact Us page.
Your Information Choices

- Provide a copy of personal information we hold.
